Artist's Statement

← Back to the art

Art is about sharing things you find beautiful. Surrounding yourself with beautiful things helps you to be an inspired and happy person. I find this work beautiful and inspiring, and am proud to introduce it to you.

Lightscapes are moving photographs

Art with strong colors, a sense of movement, and a connection to nature is my favorite, which is how I hit on the idea of "Lightscapes". Lightscapes are made with a high resolution digital camera, when the image is twisted and zoomed during capture. I set the camera to increase the contrast and color vividness, and the result are thousands of blurry pictures. This is something I invented while experimenting - while others have experimented with blurry and moving camera images before, to my knowledge, not on this level of tens-of-thousands of source images. After sorting images for several days, I find a few beautiful ones with a sense of focus, purpose, and that I find profoundly inspiring.

Affordable Art in Every Household

What is my purpose? I want to see art in every household. Too many people live without art, and it's such an easy way to increase happiness. People spend so much effort on home improvement, but art can do so much to a space, often for much less work and money. If you've got blank walls, I urge you to find some art for it, you won't regret it. I want to make a difference in people's inspiration - if someone is a bit more inspired and more productive because they have an Adrian Arthur print on the wall, that really makes my year.

I challenge the definition of photography and painting

My work attempts to challenge the assumption that painting is only done with a brush. By using colors from nature, I'm able to is a great source for colors that are filled with meaning. Painting with those colors though a camera lens lets me bring you something that, I hope, you will find inspiring.

If you like my work, I invite you to purchase a piece (or two) today. I've set the prices fairly low, with hopes that others can be as inspired by this work as I am.
